Pat Kramer, played by Lily Tomlin, is a typical suburban housewife who spends her days taking care of her children and husband, Vance (Charles Grodin), who works at a chemical plant. One day, while cleaning the kitchen, Pat accidentally spills various cleaning products and chemicals on herself, causing her body to slowly shrink.
As she becomes smaller and smaller, Pat faces a series of challenges. Simple household tasks become impossible, her clothes no longer fit, and she struggles to interact with her family and friends. As her condition worsens, Pat becomes something of a celebrity, with news crews and scientists eager to study her unique case.
Meanwhile, a mysterious group known as the C.R.A.P. (Committee for Radical Advancement of People) becomes interested in Pat's shrinking abilities. Led by a man named Dan Beame (Ned Beatty), C.R.A.P. plans to abduct Pat and use her as part of their plan to shrink the world's population and essentially bring about a new world order.
In the end, Pat and her family team up to stop C.R.A.P. and save the world from being shrunk. Along the way, Pat discovers her own strength and resilience, despite the challenges she faces due to her shrinking size.
The Incredible Shrinking Woman is a satirical take on suburban life and consumer culture, as well as a commentary on the dangers of unregulated chemicals and corporate greed.
