The Hyperions were initially a trio of teenagers, each gifted with a unique superpower thanks to Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum's invention, the Titan Badge. The team consisted of Max, a telekinetic with the power to move and manipulate objects with his mind; Jerry, a speedster who could run at superhuman speeds; and Samantha, a shape-shifter who could transform into any animal of her choice.
The Hyperions quickly gained celebrity status as they went on various missions to save the world from evil forces. However, as they grew older, the team's commercial appeal waned, and the Professor replaced them with a new squad of super-powered teens.
Years later, in 1979, Max and Jerry, now in their thirties, are disillusioned with their mundane lives and yearning to relive their glory days. They come up with a plan to break into the Professor's museum and steal back their Titan Badges, which had been put on display as memorabilia.
Things soon spiral out of control, and the heist goes wrong, with Max and Jerry accidentally taking a group of museum-goers hostage. Now forced to confront their past and reconnect with their estranged teammate Samantha, Max and Jerry must use their powers to outwit the law enforcement officers who try to take them down and prove that they still have what it takes to be heroes.
