The House on Sorority Row is a 1983 slasher film directed by Mark Rosman. It centers around a group of sorority sisters who reside in a house on their college campus. The film opens with a prologue set a few years prior, where a pregnant sorority sister named Mrs. Slater is humiliated and mistreated by the others, leading to her death at the hands of the house mother.

Fast forward to the present day, and the sorority sisters are preparing to graduate. They plan to throw one last party in the sorority house before they depart. However, they play a prank on their strict house mother's walking cane, accidentally leaving her incapacitated. They decide to hide her in the pool and continue with their party.

As the night wears on, they begin to receive strange and threatening phone calls. When they try to investigate, they find that the house mother's body is missing, and they fear that the prank may have gone too far. Soon after, the girls start to get picked off one by one by an unknown killer, who is revealed to be Mrs. Slater's son, seeking revenge for his mother's death.

As the girls attempt to defend themselves from the killer, they uncover some dark secrets about the house mother and Mrs. Slater's pregnancy. In the end, only a handful of the sorority sisters survive the night, and the house is left to burn down in the aftermath of the carnage.

The House on Sorority Row is an iconic entry in the slasher genre for its use of suspense and tension, as well as strong performances from its cast. The film has since been remade in 2009, albeit with some significant changes to the plot and characters.
