Summoning the Ghoul: A Haunting in Seven Murders

Horror  United States of America

The House of Seven Corpses is a horror film released in 1974. The story revolves around a film crew who is shooting a horror movie in an old house where seven murders occurred in the past. The house belongs to a wealthy businessman, Edgar Price, who had a fascination with the occult. The current caretaker of the house warns the crew not to tamper with the objects in the house, as they may awaken evil spirits.

The director, Eric Hartman, disregards the warning and wants to add authenticity to the film by including real-life occult rituals. He convinces the cast to take part in the rituals, which are supposed to summon a demon. As they perform the rituals, they inadvertently awaken an evil spirit that haunts the house.

Soon after, strange occurrences begin to happen: doors slam shut, objects move on their own, and the spirits of the past victims appear. The crew becomes increasingly frightened, and one by one, they fall victim to the malevolent spirits.

As the film progresses, it becomes clear that Edgar Price's obsession with the occult led him to perform a ritual that unleashed a demon, which now seeks to possess the living. With no escape from the haunted house, the remaining crew must fight to survive against the ancient forces that haunt the House of Seven Corpses.

The House of Seven Corpses is a classic horror film that has resonated with fans for decades. It features a strong cast, eerie atmosphere, and memorable scares that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
