The Hot Chick is a 2002 comedy film directed by Tom Brady and starring Rob Schneider and Rachel McAdams. The film follows Jessica Spencer (McAdams), a popular and mean-spirited high school girl who wakes up one day in the body of a middle-aged, overweight man named Clive (Schneider) after trying on a cursed pair of earrings she stole from an African witch doctor's shop.
As Clive, Jessica (now in his body) tries to figure out what happened to her and how to get her own body back before the upcoming prom. Along the way, she learns valuable lessons about empathy and the consequences of her actions as she tries to navigate the new challenges presented by her altered appearance and identity, including attracting unwanted attention from the police and Clive's criminal associates.
With the help of her best friend April (Anna Faris), Jessica (as Clive) sets out to find the witch doctor who cursed her and reverse the spell. Along the way, she also tries to mend her shattered relationships with her family, friends, and fellow students by using her newfound empathy and understanding to help them with their own problems.
The film features a number of comedic setpieces and memorable moments, including Jessica's attempts to use Clive's body to seduce her own boyfriend (played by Matthew Lawrence) and her encounters with Clive's criminal associates (played by Adam Sandler and David Spade). In the end, Jessica learns that true beauty comes from within, and that being kind and compassionate is more important than superficial appearances or social status.
