Arthur Dent is a regular man living on Earth who is suddenly faced with the destruction of the planet. He is saved by his friend Ford Prefect, who is actually an alien researcher posing as a human. The two of them embark on a journey through space together, encountering various bizarre creatures and situations along the way.
They come across the extremely paranoid and depressed android Marvin, as well as Zaphod Beeblebrox, the eccentric two-headed president of the galaxy. Together, the group searches for the meaning of life and the answer to the ultimate question.
