The Heart of Christmas follows the Locke family as they struggle to come to terms with Dax's diagnosis and the toll it takes on their lives. Despite the prognosis, Julie and her husband Austin (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) refuse to give up hope and are determined to make the most of the time they have left with their son. With the help of their community, they organize a Christmas celebration for Dax and other children at St. Jude's who are battling illnesses.
Megan, who initially only cares about her career and material possessions, becomes emotionally invested in the Locke family's story after stumbling upon Julie's blog. She eventually meets the family in person and gets involved in the Christmas celebration.
The Heart of Christmas explores themes of faith, hope, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. The film features an ensemble cast including George Newbern, Eric Jay Beck, and Christopher Shone. It was directed by Gary Wheeler and produced by Brian Brough. The Heart of Christmas premiered on the GMC network in 2011 and has since become a holiday classic.
