The Haunting of Borley Rectory

Horror  N/A

The Haunting of Borley Rectory is a horror movie based on the true story of the Borley Rectory, a Victorian mansion located in the village of Borley, Essex, England. The mansion was built in 1862 and is said to be haunted by the spirits of a nun and a monk, who were reportedly having a forbidden affair and were executed for their actions in the 16th century.

In 1929, the Reverend Lionel Foyster and his wife Marianne moved into the mansion, and soon strange occurrences began to happen. Objects moved on their own, strange sounds were heard, and ghostly apparitions appeared. The Foysters reported their experiences to the press, and the story of Borley Rectory quickly became known as the most haunted building in the world.

In 1937, the rectory was investigated by Harry Price, a renowned paranormal investigator. Price spent a year at the rectory, gathering evidence and conducting experiments. He concluded that the mansion was indeed haunted, and his book, The Most Haunted House in England, became a bestseller.

Just before World War II, the rectory was mysteriously destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but some believe that the fire was started deliberately to destroy the haunted mansion.

The Haunting of Borley Rectory movie follows a paranormal investigator who spends a night in the haunted mansion, hoping to uncover evidence of the ghostly phenomena. As the night wears on, the investigator encounters the spirits of the monk and nun, and the true horror of Borley Rectory is revealed.
