The Hangover Part III is the third and final installment in the Hangover franchise. Unlike the previous two films, this movie does not revolve around a wedding or a bachelor party, but instead follows the main characters as they try to track down Mr. Chow, a notorious gangster who has stolen $21 million in gold from them.
The film begins with Phil, Stu, and Doug (played by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Justin Bartha) intervening on behalf of Alan (played by Zach Galifianakis), who has gone off his meds and has purchased a giraffe which he later accidentally decapitates while driving. After the incident, Alan's father dies of a heart attack, which leads to an intervention by his family and an ultimatum for Alan to go to rehab. However, en route to rehab, their car is ambushed by an unidentified gunman, and Doug is kidnapped.
They then discover that Mr. Chow (played by Ken Jeong) was the orchestrator of this kidnapping and that he has stolen gold bars from Marshall (played by John Goodman), a dangerous gangster. The Wolfpack must track down Chow and the stolen money to save Doug's life.
During the search, they end up in Tijuana, Mexico, where Alan is abducted by a vengeful gangster, happen upon a high-speed car chase, and break into a mansion. The film ends with a heartbreaking twist that changes the course of the movie's previous events.
The Hangover Part III was released in 2013 and received mixed reviews but was a box office success. It was directed by Todd Phillips and starred all the lead actors from the previous films.
