The Hangover is a 2009 American comedy film directed by Todd Phillips. It stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, and Justin Bartha. The film follows three friends: Phil (Cooper), Stu (Helms), and Alan (Galifianakis), who embark on a bachelor party in Las Vegas for their best friend Doug (Bartha).
During their night of partying, the friends wake up the next morning with no memory of the previous night's events. As they try to retrace their steps, they realize they have lost the groom, Doug, and the hotel room is trashed with a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet. The trio must work together to find Doug and piece together what happened the night before.
Along the way, they encounter eccentric characters, including stripper Jade (Graham), her protective and violent ex-boyfriend, and a Chinese gangster. As they discover more about their wild night, they find themselves in increasingly complicated and dangerous situations.
The Hangover was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $467 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing R-rated comedy film of all time at the time of its release. It spawned two sequels, The Hangover Part II (2011) and The Hangover Part III (2013), both of which also feature the main cast.
