The nanny, Kelly (played by Alison Brie), becomes suspicious of the couple she is working for, Paul (played by Tobey Maguire) and Teresa (played by Elizabeth Banks), after noticing strange behavior and inconsistencies in their story about their son's abduction. She decides to investigate and discovers that the little boy she's caring for is actually the missing child whose photo she has seen on news reports.
As Kelly begins to unravel the truth, she realizes that Paul and Teresa are not the boy's parents at all, but his kidnappers. With the help of a sympathetic detective (played by Bryan Cranston), Kelly tries to devise a plan to rescue the boy and bring his captors to justice.
