The young woman in question is named Aubrey Davis, and she travels to Tokyo to search for her sister, Karen, who had been living in the city and involved in an encounter with the supernatural curse known as the Grudge. As Aubrey investigates Karen's disappearance, she becomes afflicted with the same curse and begins to experience the unrelenting rage that comes with it.
Meanwhile, a disparate group of people in Tokyo also find themselves caught up in the curse's web, including a family struggling with their own personal demons, a journalist investigating the curse's origins, and a couple facing their own harrowing experiences with the curse. As the curse spreads and its victims struggle to survive, they must work together to uncover its secret and put an end to it once and for all.
The Grudge 2 is a sequel to the 2004 horror film The Grudge and is directed by Takashi Shimizu, who also directed the original Japanese film upon which it is based. The film features a talented cast, including Amber Tamblyn as Aubrey, Edison Chen as Eason, and Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her role as Karen (though in a smaller capacity than in the first film).
