When the government announces plans to build a factory in the struggling fishing town of Tickle Cove, the residents must convince a young doctor, Dr. Lewis, to stay and become a permanent resident in order to meet the factory's requirement of having a full-time physician. They come up with a plan to seduce Dr. Lewis into staying by making him feel like he belongs and giving him everything he wants.
The town's mayor, Murray French, leads the charge and enlists the help of the entire community to transform Tickle Cove into the perfect small town for Dr. Lewis to call home. They learn about his interests, hobbies, and even his favorite foods in order to make him feel like he's found the perfect place to live.
As the town's facade begins to crumble, Murray and the residents start to question what they're doing and whether it's worth sacrificing their integrity for economic gain. Dr. Lewis also starts to see through their charade and must decide whether to stay in Tickle Cove or leave for good.
In the end, the residents learn the true meaning of community and come together to do what's right for their town, even if it means losing the opportunity for economic growth.
