The Great Muppet Caper is a 1981 musical comedy film directed by Jim Henson and produced by Frank Oz. The film opens with Kermit, Fozzie, and Gonzo arriving in London to interview Lady Holiday, a wealthy fashion designer who has just had her diamond necklace stolen. Kermit is immediately smitten with Miss Piggy, who works as Lady Holiday's receptionist. When Lady Holiday shares with the reporters that she suspects her brother, Nicky, of stealing the necklace to cover his gambling debts, Kermit and his friends set out to clear his name by catching the real thieves.

Throughout the film, the Muppets engage in several musical numbers, including a memorable scene in which they perform "The Muppets Take Manhattan" while riding bicycles through the streets of London. Meanwhile, Miss Piggy becomes entangled with the jewel thieves, who mistake her for Lady Holiday and attempt to steal her purse on numerous occasions.

In the film's climactic scene, Kermit and his friends infiltrate the thieves' hideout during a fancy dress ball and ultimately apprehend the true culprits. As the film ends, Miss Piggy and Kermit are reunited and share a romantic moment, while Fozzie and the other Muppets perform a rousing final number.

The Great Muppet Caper was well-received by audiences and critics alike, praised for its humor, music, and colorful characters. It remains a beloved entry in the Muppet franchise and a must-see for fans of family-friendly entertainment.
