The Good Nurse is an upcoming thriller film directed by Tobias Lindholm and starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain. The film is based on the true story of Charles Cullen, a nurse who is believed to have killed at least 40 patients while working at various hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania between 1987 and 2003.
Redmayne plays Cullen, while Chastain stars as a nurse named Amy Loughren who becomes suspicious of his actions and risks her own life to investigate him. The film is based on the book The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder by Charles Graeber.
The Good Nurse has been in development for several years and is expected to be released in 2022. Lindholm is known for his work on the Danish television series Borgen and the films A Hijacking and A War, while Redmayne has won an Academy Award for his performance in The Theory of Everything and Chastain has been nominated for multiple Oscars, including for her roles in Zero Dark Thirty and Molly's Game.
