Romance,Comedy,Music  United States of America

The Goldwyn Follies is a 1938 American musical comedy film produced by Samuel Goldwyn and directed by George Marshall. The film stars Adolphe Menjou, Andrea Leeds, and Edgar Bergen and his ventriloquist dummy, Charlie McCarthy. The plot revolves around a movie producer named Oliver Merlin (Menjou) who is looking for a unique way to evaluate his movies from the perspective of the average person. He chooses a young and naive girl named Hazel Dawes (Leeds) to be his "Miss Humanity" and gives her a job to watch and critique his films.

Initially, Hazel struggles to understand the finer aspects of filmmaking, but with the help of Oliver, she learns the art of cinema and begins to see beyond the glamour of Hollywood. Meanwhile, Charlie McCarthy becomes smitten with Hazel and tries to win her heart with his witty remarks and jokes.

As Hazel gains more confidence in her role as "Miss Humanity", she starts to uncover a sinister plot by a rival studio that aims to steal Oliver's ideas. With the help of Charlie and Oliver, Hazel manages to foil their plans and save the day.

The Goldwyn Follies is known for its lavish musical numbers, including "Love Walked In" and "Adios, Muchachos", which were choreographed by Busby Berkeley. It was also one of the last musical films to feature Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy before the advent of television.
