Sinbad and his crew, consisting of his loyal aide Haroun, First Mate Rachid, and a group of sailors, intercept a homunculus carrying a golden tablet. The homunculus is sent by Koura, an evil magician, who is trying to collect all three pieces of a mysterious interlocking golden map that will lead him to the Fountain of Destiny, a magical substance that grants immortality. The tablet that Sinbad intercepts is one of the three pieces.
Koura learns of Sinbad's possession of the tablet and sends his men after him. Sinbad manages to fend them off, but Koura later kidnaps the Vizier of the city of Marabia, who possesses the second piece of the golden map. Sinbad and his crew rescue the Vizier and set off on a quest across the seas to solve the riddle of the interlocking golden map and beat Koura to the Fountain of Destiny.
Along the way, they encounter various obstacles, including a giant griffin, a one-eyed centaur, and a statue that comes to life. They also acquire a magical flute, which helps them in their battles against Koura and his minions.
In the end, Sinbad and his crew manage to solve the riddle of the golden map and reach the Fountain of Destiny before Koura. Koura, desperate to obtain the Fountain's magic, drinks from it but ages rapidly and dies. Sinbad and his crew, however, are able to take a small amount of the Fountain's magic to Marabia, where they use it to heal the Vizier and restore the city to its former glory.
