The Golden Holiday is a South Korean action-comedy film directed by Kim Bong-han and starring Kwak Do-won and Kim Dae-myung. The film follows Byung-su, a laid-back detective who travels to the Philippines with his family to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary. However, his true intention is to track down his old friend Yong-bae, who scammed him and ran away a few years ago.
After arriving in Manila, Byung-su finds Yong-bae in prison for murder. Yong-bae tells him about the case surrounding 'Yamashita’s Gold', a legendary treasure hidden by Japanese soldiers during World War II. When Yong-bae offers him a share of the gold, Byung-su becomes interested in the case and decides to help Yong-bae clear his name.
As they investigate the case, Byung-su and Yong-bae become embroiled in a dangerous and action-packed adventure filled with car chases, gunfights, and fistfights. Along the way, they encounter a variety of colorful characters, including a corrupt police officer and a powerful drug lord.
