Chandler Jarrell, played by Eddie Murphy, reluctantly agrees to help Kee Nang, played by Charlotte Lewis, find the Golden Child after being convinced of the boy's importance. Together they embark on a dangerous journey to rescue the Golden Child from Sardo Numspa, played by Charles Dance, and his minions. They encounter various obstacles and enemies along the way, including a group of armed thugs and a demon in the form of a dragon.
As Jarrell and Nang get closer to finding the Golden Child, they begin to develop feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Numspa is determined to sacrifice the Golden Child in a dark ritual that will grant him immense power.
Eventually, Jarrell and Nang are able to rescue the Golden Child and confront Numspa in a final battle. With the help of a magical dagger and the strength of his own faith and courage, Jarrell is able to defeat Numspa and save the world from destruction.
The Golden Child was released in 1986 and was directed by Michael Ritchie. The film received mixed reviews upon its release but has since gained a cult following for its blend of action, comedy, and mysticism.
