Sure! In the movie, Luther Heggs, played by Don Knotts, is a timid and easily frightened man who works as a typesetter at the local newspaper in the small town of Rachel, Kansas. Despite his fears, Luther spends the night in the supposedly haunted house and experiences a series of comical and spooky encounters with ghosts and other paranormal phenomena. He writes a sensationalized account of his night at the mansion, which leads to the Simmons family suing the newspaper for libel.
With the help of his friend Kelsey, played by Joan Staley, Luther sets out to uncover the truth behind the murder-suicide that occurred at the mansion 20 years ago. As they investigate, they encounter eccentric characters, uncover long-buried secrets, and ultimately unravel the mystery surrounding the Simmons mansion.
Through his persistence and bravery, Luther proves himself as a capable reporter and gains the respect of his colleagues and the townspeople.
