The Funhouse

Horror  United States of America

The Funhouse is a horror film directed by Tobe Hooper and released in 1981. The film follows four teenagers, Amy, Buzz, Liz, and Richie, as they decide to spend the night in a carnival funhouse. As the night progresses, they witness a murder committed by a deformed carnival worker wearing a Frankenstein mask.

The killer, known as "Gunther," discovers the teens' presence in the funhouse and begins to pursue them. Amy and her friends try to evade the killer and escape from the funhouse before it leaves town. They soon realize that the carnival workers are all in on the murders and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep their secrets hidden.

The movie features suspenseful and gruesome scenes that are typical of classic slasher films. The production design is also noteworthy, with the carnival setting adding to the creepy and unsettling atmosphere.

Despite its mixed critical reception, The Funhouse has become a cult classic over the years and is considered one of Tobe Hooper's best films.
