Romance,Drama,Comedy  United States of America

The Front Page is a 1974 comedy-drama film directed by Billy Wilder and starring Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, and Susan Sarandon. The film is based on a classic stage play by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur.

The story revolves around Hildy Johnson (Jack Lemmon), a veteran newspaper reporter who is tired of the daily grind of the news business. He has decided to quit his job and get married, but his boss Walter Burns (Walter Matthau) is determined to keep him at the paper.

When a big news story breaks about an escaped convict on the loose, Hildy reluctantly agrees to cover the story one last time. However, things quickly spiral out of control as Hildy becomes embroiled in a high-stakes political conspiracy involving corrupt politicians and crooked cops.

As the deadline for his story approaches, Hildy must choose between his principles and his loyalty to his boss. Along the way, he discovers that his passion for journalism and love for his fiancé are not mutually exclusive, and that there may be more to reporting the news than just chasing a headline.

The Front Page is a fast-paced and witty satire that skewers the sensationalism and cynicism of the news media. It features strong performances from Lemmon and Matthau, as well as great supporting turns from Sarandon and Austin Pendleton. The film was critically acclaimed upon its release and has since become a beloved classic of American cinema.
