The Foreigner is a 2017 action thriller film directed by Martin Campbell and starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan. The film follows Quan Ngoc Minh, a Vietnamese immigrant and former Special Forces soldier, who runs a Chinese restaurant in London. When his teenage daughter Fan is killed in an IRA bombing, Quan becomes obsessed with finding the terrorists responsible.
His search leads him to Liam Hennessy, a former IRA member who is now a government official with connections to the remaining members of the terrorist group. Quan uses his military skills to extract information from Hennessy and his associates through a series of brutal attacks, ultimately forcing them to reveal the identities of the individuals responsible for Fan's death.
As Quan closes in on the terrorists, he discovers that the plot was actually orchestrated by Hennessy himself, who is working with a right-wing extremist group to advance his own political agenda. In a tense and violent showdown, Quan and Hennessy face off in a final confrontation that ultimately reveals the truth about Fan's death and exposes Hennessy's corruption. The film ends with Quan returning to his quiet life, having achieved his goal of avenging his daughter's death.
