The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas is the prequel to the 1994 live-action adaptation of the classic animated television series, The Flintstones. The movie explores the beginning of the friendship between Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble, and their subsequent courtship of Wilma Slaghoople and Betty O'Shale, respectively.
Fred and Barney work as crane operators at a quarry in Bedrock and spend their evenings trying to pick up women at a local Water Buffalo Lodge. When Wilma arrives in town with her wealthy and snobbish mother, Pearl, Fred becomes smitten and decides to take a job as a bellhop at a fancy hotel where Wilma and Pearl are staying.
There, he meets Chip Rockefeller, the suave and wealthy heir who is also vying for Wilma's affections. Chip takes advantage of Fred's lowly position and tries to sabotage his attempts to win Wilma's heart. Meanwhile, Barney falls for Betty, a waitress at a local diner, and the two begin a sweet and quirky romance.
Eventually, Fred and Wilma begin to date, but their relationship is tested when Chip invites Wilma and her family to Rock Vegas, a bustling metropolis where he is the owner of a popular casino. Fred and Barney follow them to Rock Vegas and become embroiled in a dangerous game of Craps against Chip that threatens to ruin their relationships with the women they love.
