In The Flash, Barry Allen uses his superhuman speed to time travel and save his mother from being murdered, but this decision has dire consequences. The timeline is altered, and Barry finds himself in a bleak future where the world is under the control of General Zod, a Kryptonian warlord. Additionally, all of Barry's friends and fellow heroes, including Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Superman, are dead or have disappeared.
Barry soon discovers that his actions have caused an imbalance in the Speed Force, the energy source that powers his abilities. He must race against time to correct the timeline, but doing so will require him to make the ultimate sacrifice. Along the way, Barry teams up with new allies, including the villainous Captain Cold and Iris West, who doesn't remember who Barry is in this new timeline.
As Barry races through time and space to save the future, he faces many challenges, including battling other speedsters and reuniting with old allies who don't remember him. Ultimately, Barry must decide what is more important: his personal happiness or the safety of the entire world.
