Break-Up Blues: Three Days of Music

Comedy,Music  United Kingdom

The Festival is a 2018 British comedy film directed by Iain Morris and written by Keith Akushie and Joe Parham. The film stars Joe Thomas as Nick, a newly dumped university graduate who goes to a music festival with his best friend Shane, played by Hammed Animashaun.

As Nick tries to forget about his ex-girlfriend, he and Shane navigate the muddy fields, loud music, and drunken crowds of the festival. Along the way, they encounter a cast of colorful characters, including a group of campers who become their temporary neighbors, a band manager who offers them drugs, and a young woman who catches Nick's eye.

The film combines raunchy humor and slapstick comedy with more thoughtful reflections on friendship, growing up, and the meaning of music festivals. It features performances from real-life bands and musicians, including The Vaccines and Idles, as well as original music and score by David Arnold.

The Festival received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its energy and humor while others found it formulaic and predictable. However, it has developed a cult following among fans of British comedy and music festivals.
