Sean Boswell is a troubled teenager with a passion for street racing. After getting himself into trouble with the law, he is sent to live with his estranged father in Tokyo, Japan. It's there that he discovers a whole new world of street racing called "drift racing," where drivers slide their cars sideways through tight turns at high speeds.
Sean finds himself attracted to the world of drift racing and quickly makes friends with a fellow racer named Twinkie, who introduces him to Han, a legendary drift racer who becomes Sean's mentor. Together, they work to build a car capable of competing against the best drift racers in Tokyo.
As Sean begins to make a name for himself on the drift racing scene, he also catches the eye of Han's beautiful girlfriend, Neela. This causes tension between him and Takashi, the leader of a notorious drift racing crew known as the "Drift King."
The story takes an intense turn when Sean discovers that Han is involved in a shady underworld business and is in danger of being killed by a powerful Japanese yakuza gang. Sean must put his drifting skills to the test in a high-stakes race through the streets of Tokyo to save Han and himself.
In the end, Sean emerges victorious as a hero in the drift racing world and gains the respect of his fellow racers. He also learns the importance of family and loyalty, finding a new home in Tokyo with his newfound friends.
