After her cornea transplantation, Sydney begins to see ghosts around her. She is frightened and confused by these visions and seeks the help of her eye doctor, Dr. Paul Faulkner. He tries to convince her that what she sees are just hallucinations caused by her brain's adjustment to the new eye.
However, Sydney's visions become more intense, and she realizes that one ghost in particular, a young girl named Natasha, is trying to communicate with her. Sydney does some research and discovers that Natasha was a child trapped in a fire that happened in a building near where she lived.
Sydney decides to help put Natasha's spirit to rest and investigates the cause of the fire, which leads her to discover a sinister cover-up involving the building's owners. Sydney uses her newfound sight to find evidence and reveal the truth about Natasha's death.
As Sydney learns to accept her ability to see ghosts, she decides to use her gift to help others who are suffering.
