Barney Ross is the leader of a group of mercenaries known as "The Expendables." The team is made up of highly skilled soldiers, each with their own unique skillset and personality. In addition to Lee Christmas, the team includes Ying Yang, a martial arts expert, Hale Caesar, a heavy weapons specialist, Toll Road, a demolitionist, and Gunnar Jensen, a loose-cannon sniper.
The Expendables are hired by a mysterious Mr. Church to assassinate a ruthless dictator of a small South American island called Vilena. The team first travels to New Orleans to receive their briefing and gather their equipment. Church warns the team that Vilena is unstable and that their mission could be dangerous.
Upon arriving in Vilena, the team encounters a beautiful rebel leader named Sandra, who has been fighting against the dictator's regime. Barney and Lee quickly realize that their mission is not as simple as they thought and that they must work closely with Sandra to gain access to the dictator and complete their mission.
As they navigate the dangerous political landscape of Vilena, The Expendables encounter numerous obstacles and enemies, including an ex-CIA agent named James Munroe, who is working with the dictator.
The team eventually gains the trust of Sandra's rebel army and launches a daring attack on the dictator's compound. In the ensuing battle, the team faces off against Munroe and his men, using their specialized skills to defeat the heavily armed opposition.
In the end, The Expendables are successful in their mission, but not without casualties. The team leaves Vilena with a newfound respect for each other and the realization that they are all truly expendable.
