The Exorcism in Amarillo is a horror film based on the real-life events of the Ashley Hays Wright family, who experienced unexplainable demonic activity in their home in Amarillo, Texas in 2005. The film was released in 2021 and directed by Phil Gorn.

Ashley Hays Wright, played by Marin Ireland, is a devoted mother of three daughters, Faith, Hope, and Joy. Her husband, John Wright, is serving in the military in Iraq, leaving Ashley alone with her children in their new home. Soon after moving in, Ashley begins experiencing eerie occurrences in the house at night, including strange sounds and objects moving on their own.

Things take a dark turn when Ashley's youngest daughter, Joy, falls ill and begins exhibiting disturbing behavior, such as speaking in tongues and levitating off her bed. Ashley turns to local priests for help, but they are hesitant to perform an exorcism without John's permission.

As the demonic presence continues to torment the family, with the activity increasing each night, Ashley becomes increasingly desperate for help. John, played by Chris Sullivan, finally receives a phone call from Ashley, begging him to come home as soon as possible.

Upon John's return, an intense exorcism is performed on Joy, with the entire family participating. The evil presence is eventually expelled from their home, but not without causing immense trauma to the Wright family.

The Exorcism in Amarillo is a horror film that explores the very real and frightening world of demonic possession and spiritual warfare. It is a harrowing account of one family's struggle to fight back against evil, and the toll it takes on them.
