The Evil of Frankenstein is a British horror film released in 1964. It was directed by Freddie Francis and produced by Hammer Film Productions. The film stars Peter Cushing as Baron Frankenstein, and Duncan Lamont as Zoltan, the hypnotist.
The film begins with a flashback to the events of the previous film, The Curse of Frankenstein. The Baron is forced to flee his castle after his creation goes on a killing spree. He returns to Karlstaad years later and discovers the frozen body of his monster in the mountains.
Frankenstein brings the creature back to his laboratory and revives him with the help of Zoltan. However, the hypnotist soon takes control of the creature and uses him to carry out a series of brutal murders. Frankenstein realizes that he must break Zoltan's hypnotic hold on the creature before it's too late.
The film features many of the classic horror elements associated with the Frankenstein story, such as the creation of the monster and its subsequent rampage. However, it also adds a unique twist to the story by introducing the character of Zoltan and his ability to control the monster through hypnosis.
Overall, The Evil of Frankenstein is a solid entry into the Hammer horror canon. It may not be as well-known as some of the other Frankenstein films, but it's worth checking out for fans of classic horror.
