The Estate follows the story of two sisters named Anna and Beth, who have recently discovered that their wealthy Aunt Caroline is terminally ill and doesn't have much time left to live. Anna and Beth, who are struggling to make ends meet and trying to start their respective families, see their Aunt's impending death as an opportunity to earn a substantial inheritance and improve their lives.
However, they soon discover that Aunt Caroline is notoriously difficult to please and has always been very tight-fisted with her money. Determined to win her over, the sisters decide to put on a show of kindness and generosity to win her affection and secure their place as beneficiaries.
