The Era of Vampires is a supernatural martial arts film set in 17th century China, where vampires and zombies are real. The story follows a group of skilled martial artists who are also vampire hunters. They are hired by a wealthy and eccentric old man named Lord Qin, who has preserved his ancestors in wax and keeps them in his cellar. His family has had this tradition for generations, and he believes that they will one day rise again.
However, trouble arises when a thief named Han wants to steal Lord Qin's treasure and hires a zombie-wrangler to reanimate the waxed-up relatives and gain access to the mansion. The vampire hunters must confront the zombie-wrangler and his army of undead to protect Lord Qin and his family's legacy.
As the story unfolds, darker secrets are revealed, and the hunters must also confront their own past and personal demons. The lead character, Master Jiang, played by Chin Siu-ho, is haunted by a tragic past and is driven by a deep sense of duty to eradicate the supernatural forces that threaten humanity.
