In The Engagement Plot, Hanna Knight (played by Jaclyn Hales) returns to her hometown after being chosen as a contestant on a dating reality show. She has been left heartbroken by the experience and disillusioned with the world of reality TV.
Back in Colorado, Hanna meets her former high-school crush, Caleb (played by Aaron Jakubenko), who is now a successful businessman. The two reconnect and Hanna confides in him about her experiences on the dating show.
To help her save face with her family and friends, they agree to pretend to be engaged for a while. The plan is to end the charade after a short time, but as they spend more time together, Hanna and Caleb begin to develop real feelings for each other.
