The two siblings, a brother and a sister, are named Max and Lily. They have been hiding in the antique shop for several days, scavenging for supplies and trying to find a way out. Max is a cynical and jaded young man who has become resigned to his fate, while Lily is still hopeful and optimistic that they will be saved. As they wait for the inevitable end, they reminisce about their childhood and share their hopes for the future.
One day, a group of survivors stumble upon the shop and offer to help Max and Lily escape. However, they soon discover that the survivors have their own agenda and are not what they seem. Max and Lily must decide whether to trust them or continue to wait for their own demise.
Meanwhile, a mysterious figure known only as "The Squirrel" is wreaking havoc on the zombie horde, using unconventional weapons and tactics to take them down. Max becomes obsessed with finding The Squirrel and joins forces with a group of other survivors to track him down.
The End of the Squirrel is a darkly comedic take on the apocalypse genre, exploring themes of survival, hope, and the absurdity of the human condition in the face of certain doom.
