However, their peaceful existence was disrupted when they were forced to hide from humans for over 200 years. They used to assist human craftsmen during the night, but were forced underground by a wicked tailor's wife who was suspicious of their activities.
One day, a curious and adventurous teenage Elfkin named Helvi decides to venture outside of their hideaway to discover if humans still need their assistance. To her dismay, she finds that humans no longer appreciate the value of baking and have become reliant on machines. Determined to restore the dwindling cultural practice of baking, Helvi rallies her fellow Elfkins to help a struggling and uninspired human pastry chef named Theo.
The Elfkins discreetly enter Theo's kitchen at night, causing a series of chaotic yet comedic mishaps as they rekindle his passion for baking.
