The Dukes of Hazzard is a 2005 action-comedy film based on the classic television series of the same name. The film stars Johnny Knoxville as Luke Duke and Seann William Scott as Bo Duke, with Jessica Simpson playing their cousin Daisy Duke.
The story follows the Duke brothers as they try to save their family farm from being taken over by corrupt businessman and politician Boss Hogg, played by Burt Reynolds. To do so, they must navigate through Hazzard County's corrupt political system, outsmart incompetent law enforcement, and engage in a series of high-speed chases, stunts, and explosions.
Along the way, they are joined by a cast of colorful characters, including their moonshine-making Uncle Jesse (played by Willie Nelson), Roscoe P. Coltrane (played by M.C. Gainey), and a host of other quirky townsfolk.
The film was directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, best known for his work on the comedy troupe Broken Lizard's films such as Super Troopers. It was produced by Bill Gerber and Warner Bros. Pictures.
Despite mixed reviews from critics, The Dukes of Hazzard was a box office success, grossing over $110 million worldwide. It has since become a cult classic among fans of the original series and fans of action-comedy films.
