The Door with Seven Locks is a British horror-thriller film released in 1940, directed by Norman Lee. The movie is based on the 1926 novel of the same name by Edgar Wallace. The story revolves around a wealthy lord named Francis Hurst who dies and leaves behind a valuable deposit of jewels in his tomb.
The Lord's seven heirs are gathered for the reading of his will, and they learn that they can only claim their inheritance if they find the seven keys to unlock the tomb. However, one of the heirs, Richard Hurst, is missing, and his whereabouts are unknown.
Dr. Manetta, a mad scientist, is a friend of the deceased Lord and has a sinister plan to keep the treasure for himself. He uses an iron maiden to systematically eliminate the heirs one by one until he finds the seventh key.
The other heirs, along with the Lord's secretary, try to figure out who the killer is and stop him from getting his hands on the treasure. As the bodies continue to pile up, they start to unravel the mystery behind the seven locks and Richard Hurst's disappearance.
