The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them follows the story of Conor Ludlow (James McAvoy) and his wife Eleanor Rigby (Jessica Chastain) after the tragic loss of their young child. The couple's marriage is strained as they both try to cope with their grief in different ways. Eleanor decides to leave Conor and disappears without a trace, leaving him alone and confused.

The film explores their individual struggles with loss, identity, and the complexities of relationships through intimate moments and flashbacks of their past. Conor tries to win back Eleanor by pursuing her and attempting to understand her perspective, while Eleanor tries to find herself and heal from her pain.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby was originally released as two separate films: Him and Her, which tell the story from Conor and Eleanor's perspectives respectively. Them combines both films into one complete story that focuses on their relationship and the ways in which they come together and drift apart in the aftermath of their tragedy.

The film also stars Viola Davis, William Hurt, Bill Hader, and Isabelle Huppert and was directed by Ned Benson. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014 and was released in theaters in 2015.
