The Dirt is a biographical drama film released in 2019, based on the 2001 book of the same name by Mötley Crüe and Neil Strauss. The movie chronicles the rise of the band from their formation in 1981 on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles to their peak of fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The film explores the various struggles and challenges that the band faced along the way, including their drug and alcohol addictions, numerous legal issues, and personal tragedies. It also highlights the wild and hedonistic lifestyle that they lived, which included wild parties, groupies, and a constant rock and roll mentality.

The Dirt stars Douglas Booth as Nikki Sixx, Machine Gun Kelly as Tommy Lee, Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars, and Daniel Webber as Vince Neil. The film was directed by Jeff Tremaine, and produced by members of the band themselves, along with Julie Yorn and Erik Olsen.

Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film proved to be a commercial success, and further solidified Mötley Crüe's place in rock and roll history.
