The Diggers follows the journey of Tom, a small-time crook who finds himself in the midst of a dilemma when a planned heist goes awry. His partner and best friend, Jack, is killed during the robbery, and Tom is forced by the local crime boss, Mr. Biggs, to dispose of the body. He is warned that should he fail to do so, he and his family will face dire consequences.
Tom decides to take Jack's body to the desert, where they had buried another body two years prior. He believes that this will provide him with a cover story and allow him to escape the situation. However, things get complicated when he discovers that he is not alone in the desert.
A group of eccentric characters begins to appear, each with their own agendas and personal struggles.
