The Devil's Rain is a horror film released in 1975, directed by Robert Fuest and starring Ernest Borgnine, William Shatner, and Tom Skerritt. The movie follows a family of satanists who possess a cursed book that contains the names of people who sold their souls to the devil. As a result, they are able to melt the physical form of the people whose names they call out from the book.

The story is set in a small town in the middle west, where the Preston family is haunted by a curse that started with the betrayal of their ancestor, Jonathan Corbis, who sold his soul to the devil. When Corbis returns to claim the book, he is confronted by the current head of the Preston family, Mark Preston, played by Shatner, who wants to destroy the book and break the curse once and for all.

The movie features several iconic scenes, including a melting face-off between Borgnine's character, Corbis, and Skerritt's character, Tom. The makeup effects used in this scene were groundbreaking for their time and won an award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Devil's Rain also features a haunting musical score by composer Al De Lory. Although the movie received mixed reviews upon its release, it has since gained a cult following and is considered a classic of the horror genre.
