The Devil All the Time is a drama/thriller film directed by Antonio Campos. It is based on the novel of the same name by Donald Ray Pollock. The movie takes place in post-World War II Southern Ohio and follows several characters, whose lives intersect in unexpected and often violent ways.

The main character is a young man named Arvin Eugene Russell, played by Tom Holland. Arvin's father, Willard Russell (Bill Skarsgård), a World War II veteran, is deeply traumatized by his experiences in the war and becomes increasingly religious. Willard's extreme religious beliefs ultimately lead to his own demise.

As Arvin grows up, he encounters other mentally disturbed individuals, including the corrupt Sheriff Lee Bodecker (Sebastian Stan), serial killer couple Carl (Jason Clarke) and Sandy Henderson (Riley Keough), and a false preacher named Preston Teagardin (Robert Pattinson).

Despite the film's focus on mental illness and trauma, it also deals with themes like revenge, justice, and morality. It is a dark and disturbing film that is not for the faint of heart. However, it also offers a thought-provoking commentary on the consequences of war and the impact it can have on individuals and society as a whole.
