Copenhagen Terror: The 2015 Attacks Unfold

Drama  Denmark

The Day We Died is a Danish film that tells the story of the events surrounding the terrorist attacks that occurred in Copenhagen on February 14th and 15th, 2015. The film follows the lives of two individuals affected by the attacks: Dan, a young man attending a cultural event where the first shooting occurs, and Omar, a former gang member turned Islamist extremist who carried out the attacks.

As the events unfold, Dan finds himself caught in the crossfire between the police and the terrorists, while Omar struggles with his own conflicted emotions about the violence he is committing. The film explores the larger themes of radicalization, fear, and hate, as well as the resilience of the human spirit in the face of tragic events.

Directed by Anders Helde, The Day We Died is a gripping and emotional recounting of the events of those two days in Copenhagen, as seen through the eyes of those who were there. The film received critical acclaim upon its release in Denmark, and has since been shown at film festivals around the world.
