The Darkest Hour is a 2011 science fiction film directed by Chris Gorak and produced by Timur Bekmambetov. The movie is set in Moscow, Russia and follows a group of young tourists - Sean, Ben, Natalie, Anne, and Skyler - who find themselves trapped in the city when an alien race invades.

Throughout the film, the group faces numerous challenges, including avoiding the aliens, finding safe shelter, and trying to locate other survivors. The group also discovers that the aliens are hunting humans to use as a source of energy to sustain their life.
As the tension builds, the group must use their determination and resourcefulness to fight back against the aliens before humanity is wiped out completely. The movie ends with the group devising a plan to launch a satellite, using microwave technology to defeat the aliens.
