Revenge of the Street Performers: Yang's Last Stand

Action  Hong Kong

The Daredevils is a 1979 Hong Kong martial arts film directed by Chang Cheh and starring Alexander Fu Sheng, Niu Niu, Ku Feng, and Johnny Wang. The film is a loose adaptation of the classical Chinese novel Water Margin, and features a group of street performers who band together to take down a group of corrupt officials and their criminal syndicate.

The film begins with General Yang and his family being attacked by a group of bandits who are in league with corrupt officials. Yang's son, Yang Wu Lang (played by Alexander Fu Sheng), manages to escape the massacre and seeks refuge with a group of street performers who specialize in acrobatics and martial arts. The performers include Luohan (played by Niu Niu), a master of the "iron arms" technique; Reformer (played by Ku Feng), a master of the "iron legs" technique; and Teapot (played by Johnny Wang), a master of the "iron head" technique.

Together, the group decides to take down the corrupt officials and their criminal syndicate, but Yang Wu Lang is impatient and wants to exact revenge immediately. He sneaks into his former home and engages in a fierce battle against some of the top fighters in the syndicate, but is ultimately killed by their leader.

Devastated by their friend's death, Luohan, Reformer, and Teapot devise a plan to defeat the syndicate without having to face their army directly. They use their acrobatic and martial arts skills to infiltrate the syndicate's headquarters and take down their leaders one by one. In the final showdown, they face off against the syndicate's army, using their collective mastery of the "iron techniques" to defeat them in a spectacular display of martial arts prowess.

Overall, The Daredevils is a classic martial arts film that showcases the talents of some of Hong Kong cinema's most iconic performers, and features thrilling fight scenes and dazzling acrobatics.
