The Curse of La Llorona is a horror movie released in 2019, directed by Michael Chaves. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, the movie follows Anna Garcia (Linda Cardellini), a social worker and single mother who begins investigating the disappearance of two children. The investigation leads her to a case involving a Mexican folklore legend of La Llorona, also known as the Weeping Woman.

According to the legend, La Llorona is the ghost of a woman who drowned her children in a river after being betrayed by her husband. Now, she roams the earth, mourning her lost children and seeking to replace them with the children of others. Anna soon discovers that the legend may be more than just a story as she begins to experience supernatural occurrences and La Llorona begins to target her own children.

With the help of a former priest, Father Perez (Tony Amendola), Anna tries to unravel the mystery of La Llorona and stop her from taking her children. However, she soon realizes that La Llorona's curse is more powerful than she anticipated and will stop at nothing to take what she wants.

The Curse of La Llorona received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, but it was a commercial success, grossing over $123 million worldwide. The movie is part of The Conjuring Universe and features a cameo from Annabelle, the haunted doll from another movie in the franchise.
