"The Cook" follows the story of a renowned chef, Monsieur Henri, who runs a high-end seafood restaurant by the ocean. Henri is obsessed with efficiency and while in the midst of training his new kitchen assistant, Guillaume, he devises a plan to make their work more efficient. However, their experiments with new techniques and equipment lead to a series of kitchen disasters.
Meanwhile, a thief named Simon sneaks into the restaurant with the intention of stealing valuable items. But the unexpected arrival of a food critic and some regular customers disrupts Simon's plan, and he is forced to hide in the kitchen where he overhears Henri and Guillaume's plan and decides to lend a hand.
As the three work to keep the kitchen functioning smoothly, they hilariously bumble their way through preparing dishes. In the end, Simon's criminal past catches up with him but he is redeemed by the delicious food served at the restaurant. Through their mishaps and efforts, the team learns the importance of teamwork and the joy of preparing good food.
