The ex-lawman, Ray Keene, is trying to reconnect with his son, Chris, who is struggling with the death of his mother. They set out on a hiking trip in the Oregon wilderness, hoping to find solace in nature. However, their peace is disrupted when they come across a wounded man who turns out to be a notorious assassin, Frank Carden.
Carden is being pursued by two corrupt government agents who want to kill him before he can testify against them in court. The agents are determined to eliminate any witnesses, including Ray and Chris, who have unwittingly stumbled into the middle of a deadly cat-and-mouse game.
