The Constant Gardener, based on the novel by John le Carré, follows Justin Quayle (played by Ralph Fiennes) as he investigates the murder of his wife Tessa (played by Rachel Weisz). Tessa was a passionate activist who had been working on exposing a pharmaceutical company's unethical practices in Africa. Justin had always been passive about his wife's work, but after her death, he becomes obsessed with finding out why she was killed and who was responsible.
As Justin delves deeper into the conspiracy, he discovers a web of corruption involving the pharmaceutical company, government officials, and even his own colleagues at the British High Commission. He also uncovers evidence that Tessa was not the random victim of a robbery gone wrong, but was targeted because of her investigation into the company's sinister practices.
Justin travels to Kenya and confronts those responsible for Tessa's death, risking his own life in the process. Along the way, he discovers the powerful connection he had with his wife and the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of danger.
